“There is a famous saying that ‘Family isn’t about whose blood you have. It’s about who you care about.’ I have always believed that family is the most important aspect of our lives. It is not just my blood family, but my friends who have been by my side and have helped shape my dreams and aspirations.”

I was writing my personal statements for UC’s and ended up with this. Not only do I feel it’s a great introduction, but it truly speaks depth. It’s strange that I’ve only realized how much my family and friends have really changed me. I don’t tell my parents this enough but I love them. We’ll get into stupid arguments but in the end, it doesn’t matter. And I love my family for being there when I need it. To my friends, you’ve always been there by my side when I needed it and I can’t tell you guys enough how much you all mean to me. Thank you, everyone.

Shit I am legitly crying right now, fuck me.

These are the awe inspiring photographs from Japan the day of the earthquakes and tsunami, then partial cleanup, and finally what it looks like just 6 months after (today).

I recommend you click on and look through the entire gallery to see how well this country has bounced back after just a terrible event. Over 20,000 people are either dead or missing. 800,000 home were either fully or partially destroyed and displaced over 400,000. Wow, wow, wow.

Slow it down, take a minute, breath. It seems as though everyone is always in a rush to get somewhere and they don’t take notice to the beauty in their everyday lives. I love this tree.

It was such a depressing sight when I was walking to lunch today and noticed that this beautiful tree was no longer there. Park St. just doesn’t look right anymore.

When I looked down the street, something seemed very different about it. Just goes to show we just don’t appreciate the little things until it’s too late.

First real post I’ve done in a while. I hate how I’m being pressured to finish some essays that I should be taking my time on. My parents have been yelling at me to get these done day after day. These 1000 words will affect the rest of my life, and I want them to be perfect. I want to have the pride of saying this is MY essay and I wrote it from the bottom of my heart. I want to be PROUD of what I write. But being pressured to finished this like it’s some term paper makes this feel like another school assignment. Why can’t people just leave me alone?
